Cosimo Commisso divulges his top picks for boutique hotels in the Vancouver area.
Boutique hotels in Vancouver range from rustic to refined, and all of them are absolute jewels. While you’ll likely be spending most of your time outdoors in this gorgeous Canuck city, these boutique hotels make sure you have something unique and luxurious to head back to after a full day of exploring. I’ve made a list of my top four favourites — enjoy!
This is a spot for those who wish to indulge. The Wedgewood Hotel complements Vancouver’s elegant side with its gorgeous architecture and décor and of course, its world-class amenities. The entire space is classically cosy, and the cherries on top are its award-winning restaurant Bacchus and in-house spa. Check them both out, even if you’re not staying the night.
Where the Wedgewood has a sort of charming antique-y feel to it, Vancouver’s Metropolitan Hotel is more “art deco.” The architecture is fascinating, but the hotel is more than just a pretty face: its luxury suites are absolute havens. If it’s in your budget, I’d recommend booking the three-level penthouse suite.
If mod is your beat, check out (er, check in) the OPUS. It’s truly a cool hotel: the décor is a balance of sleek and ornate, the management is as hip as it gets, and the amenities are some of the best in the city. It’s even been celebrated by Forbes and Conde Nast, and has been named one of the top 25 hotels in Canada. Can’t go wrong with that. And a tip: if you feel like being adorable, book the bed-and-breakfast package.
L’Hermitage is committed to spoiling its guests, and the proof is in its long list of amenities — which includes thoughtful bonuses like a complimentary Lexus shuttle service within a three-kilometre radius of the hotel. Truly luxurious and located right in the heart of Vancouver, L’Hermitage is the best place to go if you’re looking for a totally stress-free stay. This entry was posted in Travel
