Cosimo Comisso hearts NY — and he also loves the journey there from his hometown of Toronto. Here, Cosimo Commisso shares his favourite ways to get from The Six to The Big Apple
Cosimo Commisso here again, my friends and fellow travelers. This time I want to tell you about my personal favourite ways to travel from Toronto (my hometown) to New York City — a trek made by many Canucks throughout the year. I’ve traveled to The Big Apple many times, and as much as I adore this world-famous city, I always seem to enjoy the journey there, too.
This is the perfect transportation solution for anyone who’s on a tight budget — or if you plan on saving all your funds for when you actually arrive in NYC! I love Megabus because not only is it cheap, but also it’s convenient and fast.
I love this choice because the journey is an adventure in itself, taking you through Niagara Falls on the way to New York City. And while Via Rail is obviously one of the most technologically advanced trains in the business, the trip will still have an old-timey vibe that will amp up your excitement as you near the historic city
Torontonians have been raving about the excellent service and easy-going vibe presented by Porter Airlines. Its flights embark from Billy Bishop Airport, which is so much easier to access than Pearson International Airport and has a lot less red tape to cross before your flight. Plus, the Porter Airlines experience is super plush and very fun, as they offer a luxurious lounge space, complimentary booze and other treats for the journey.
Possibly my absolute favourite of these four options is the classic road trip. The drive is only about eight hours, so you can get there in under a day, and stop by the duty-free shop on your way back. This is a great way to travel if you’re hitting NYC with friends — because who doesn’t love a good road trip, no matter what the season is?
Have a happy journey to New York, New York!
